YN Member / Attendee Rule - We want to make sure people understand that this league is being set up for those who attend the church or are members. By playing in this league, you are agreeing to be accountable to each other by attending
YN Church. If an individual makes a habitual routine to skip service and just come out to play ball hockey, the league may ask you to step away and let those who are active members / attenders to play instead. Please understand that this is
nothing personal, but rather we want to focus on the fellowship and growth of our community
Time Format:
2 x 20 minute halves, run time except for penalty calls, injuries, and penalty shots.
5 minutes for goalie warm up, 1 minute intermission.
Overtime - Shootouts, 5 on 5, 1 member has to be a female. If a female is not available, opposing team choose one person on the team to take the spot.
Points - 2 pts for win, 1 pts for tie in regulation / shootout tie / shootout loss
Penalties:
Any stick infractions - high sticking, slashing, hooking - loss of ball possession
Unnecessary roughing, and non-accidental body contact - 2 minute minor, on the 2nd penalty it'll be a game misconduct
Fighting - zero tolerance, first infraction will be automatic game misconduct, second time you will be asked to leave the league, no refunds
Line changes:
On the fly
Timeouts:
1 per half, cannot carry over. Team that called timeout will get ball possession behind their own net.
No Slapshots - Will be calling this the Paul Choi rule. It`s mostly for safety precautions as we don`t want people swinging their sticks too high.
No shots from your own end - No shooting at the goalie from your own end. Must be at least 3/4 way in before shooting (initially 1/2 court but that may be too small of a space to operate in)
Short on Players Rule - If the team has only 4 + 1 Goalie, the opposing team can choose up to 2 individuals to play on that team. Substitute players will not be eligible for the points they accrue during the game.
Goalie Stoppage Rule - Once goalie has made a stop, opposing team must give the goaltender space to give the ball to one of his players. |
