Just a few items for
you. - Please go to this link
to sign the CARHA insurance waiver. They will reach out to me to ask for
missing waivers so please save me the trouble of asking over and over again.
- Reply to this email if you are interested in
sharing your contact information with other captains on the spares list.
Goalies are on this list by default.
- The schedule has been updated to include
the round robin of the playoffs. Also, note that there was a change to the game
times on Dec 4th.
- If you can spare a minute after 10pm games,
please bring the nets to the Zamboni doors. The rink guys are nice with us for
not buzzing us off when we go a little long (especially in playoff games) so
let’s make their lives a little easier.
No issues so far
but this reminder won’t hurt
The SAHL is a recreational
level league. Referees are encouraged to make more penalty calls than not
enough to help prevent escalation of issues. Penalties should be rare and accidental
in nature. Although we are a 40+ league, our collective average age is closer
to 55 with some skaters being old enough to have tied onions to their belts as
young lads. That trip on an opponent that’s on breakaway that your peewee coach
would call a good penalty could potentially end someone’s playing career. Let’s keep safety a priority out there and treat everyone (Volunteers,
Referees, Timekeepers and each other) with respect at all time. |
