Hey guys,

 Here's a few items of note as we are into the last few weeks of this season.

Aggressive/dangerous play in the playoffs

The level of dangerous aggressive play has been creeping up in the playoffs. I have received complaints and been informed of injuries over the last few weeks. I have asked the referee in chief to remind the refs that we don’t expect them to call the playoff games any differently than the regular season. Please keep this in mind next time you get called for what seems like a borderline penalty, we look like idiots asking them to call it tight and then complain about the calls. Remember, this is not “the show” and your next contract will not increase due to a cup ring. Keep it safe for everyone out there.

March 5^th games

The games for March 5^th have been rescheduled to Marc 18th. The schedule on the website has been updated. These games were rescheduled due to an on-ice incident last Thursday where Dave Nisula (Kings) suffered a heart attack during play. The paramedics indicated that his life was saved by the players that administered first aid. He is now recovering at the hospital thanks to the quick actions of Phil Levesque and Albéric Bilodeau of the Habs. Not all heroes wear capes.

Semis and Finals

The website has been updated with placeholders for Semis (week of March 23) and Finals on March 31. Like last season, we will have a Championship (top 4 playoff teams) and Consolation (bottom 4 teams).

Year end get together

Our year end event will take place at Boston Pizza on St-Laurent on April 11 at 6:30. Please let your captain know if you will be there. Team Captains, please give your respective team headcount to Steph (stevie.8888@hotmail.com) by April 6th.

Summer Pick-Up Hockey

The schedule for summer pick-up hockey is below. Every game is on the Bob MacQuarrie Manley rink at 8:15pm. It is $260 per player from the league (priority registration for league players) and $275 for others as additional insurance will need to be purchased for them. Please let me know ASAP if you intend on playing. The registration fee can be sent to sahl.treasurer@gmail.com with the password “Summer” to secure your place.
