PMHL Men’s Hockey League Rules-2007/2008
	TEAM RULES
#1	A player must play at least 40% of regular season games to be qualified to
	play in the playoffs. List your injured or suspended players on score sheet.
#2	Any team(player) that is seen with alcohol before game will face a team
	suspension-one warning – 2nd offence one game team suspension.
#3	Team suspensions will effect schedule-always check web site
#4	We recommend full-face guards. All players play at their own risk and league or
	or team reps are not responsible for any injury or actions. Players must sign consent form
#5	Refs have been asked to call all swearing and unsportsmanlike conduct-on & off ice
#6	Players please stay off ice till attendant is finished
#7	OFF-ICE incidents will be reported to league officials - could result in more penalties
	MAJOR PENALTIES    -    REFEREES DECISION IS FINAL
	Intent to injure, Fighting, Gross & Match Penalties.
	1st man off his team’s bench during a fight.
	Unsportsmanlike conduct during hand shake and penalties of this nature
#1	Five (5) game suspension.
	No review of incident by league.
	UNNECESSARY  PENALTIES
	high sticking - slashing - spearing - buttending - cross checking - kneeing - elbowing -  bodycheck - boarding - unsportsmanlike -
	10 min misconducts - game misconducts in the 1st & 2nd  period(see rule #3)
#2	If a player accumulates 5 UNNECESSARY type penalties in regular league play, he will receive a next game suspension. If next game is a playoff game no suspension will apply.
#3	If accumulated total continues to 8 unnecessary penalties the player will sit out another next game including playoffs. 10 penalties out for season-Rule #10
	OTHER PENALTIES
#5	Swearing in any way or form will not be tolerated in our league.
	The player(s) will receive a (next game) suspension.
#6	If three (3) minor penalties are incurred in a game player is removed from game.
	Any 5-min. major penalty, player is out remainder of game plus a 3 game suspension. Any double-minor of the same infraction is a next game suspension
#7	Any game misconduct penalty in the 3rd period will carry a next game suspension
#8
#9	Any player who receives three different game suspensions will automatically be .
	suspenameded for the balance of the season and playoffs-this would be changed to two suspensions the following season.
#10	If player plays while under any suspension notice kk- please inform league after league game is
	complete. Player’s suspension penalty will double.

Playoff FORMAT - 2009-subject to change each year

Playoffs -"AA" & "A" Division
Division Round Robin
The next 5 games your team plays will be within the division - Div 1 or Div 2 - "AA" or "A"
- each four team division plays 3 games in round robin format within their division and then advance to a 2 game division 1/4 final again within their division. 1st place in that division plays fourth place and 2nd plays 3rd place
- Losers of divisional series advance to Exhibition Play-March 9
- the 2 divisional series winners advance to one game Semi Final against other division in their respective "AA" or "A"
- Winners then advance to one game "AA" or "A" Final 
 
 Tie Breakers - for round robin schedules
Head to Head (2 teams only)- most wins - goals for & against - goals against - fewest unnecessary penalties - fewest player suspensions - flip a coin. If more than two teams are tied, no Head to Head is used and we go to next tie breaker
  
Two Game Series-Format

If game one or two are tied after regulation the game remains a tie

If the series is tied after the two games are completed we go directly into a 10 min sudden victory period to decide the series.

10 min run time-c/w 1 min stop time-if still tied-3 man simualtanous shootout-if still tied sudden victory same shooter, same order

If there is a game following - time will be added to their 1:15

No Curfew – Any game ejections given during 2^nd game remain – 10min misconducts carry over into overtime-penalties on time clock from 2^nd game do not carry over.

Note: Teams that win the 2nd game usually win the series. Winning the first game means little and only helps you if the 2nd game ends in a tie. Gear for game two.
