SOME CAME TO PLAY: SOME DID NOT!
The last week of regular action saw a ton of goals, a statistician who missed his game, the scoring lead tighten even more and a paramedic who could not get his keys out of a locked car. Bradley and Associates captured the regular season title with a convincing 6-1 romp over the back doctors.Brian Blenkarn popped a hat trick with Bill Wagner netting a pair and singles going to Dave “driller” Thompson and Jamie Temple. Veteran Ray Jodoin scored the lone Chiropractor’s goal . A & B Sports got hammered by Karters Korner 6-0 as they had to do without veteran Armstrong who misread the schedule and showed up half way through the disaster. Mike Dube closed in on the scoring lead with an impressive four point game ( 2/2) with singles going to Rick Turner, Kevin Ellard , Mark Brooks and Mike Ball. Rob Mulder was not tested often as he registered the shutout. With the victory, the go-karters finished second in the standings. Rob Hawkin’s KSC came out victorious in a shoot out with Foley’s Signs winning 5-4. Jeff Snyder led the way with two goals and an assist. Veteran Jerry Jones had a career high, goal and three assist game with Rob Hawkins and Don Fraser rounding out the scoring. Cam McDonald’s career hat trick was overshadowed by the loss with Don McCarter adding a solo goal for the losers. The pre-luncheon special saw another bushel of goals scored with Business Allies coming out on top over Karson Kartage with a 5-2 victory. Kevin Shea had a pair for the winners with singles going to Evan Cameron, Garth Rogers and Kirby Gerstmar. Scoring a pair for the losers was Andy Mutch. The last regular game of the season saw the bus drivers defeat the garbage men, 4-3 as Bryson’s team sewed up the Horse’s Ass Award. Peter Capello had a pair with Tony Mather and Bill Morin contributing singles. Paul Seguin was able to make the game as he had use his “panty scissors” to get his car keys that were locked inside of his car. Scoring for Goulbourn Sanitation was rookie Bert Zeyl with a pair and Brian Langill with a solo. The league will be sponsoring the last breakfast of the year on March 2 at Gator Alley. DID YOU KNOW: 67% of the goals scored in the N.H.L. are along the ice. In the KOHA, 67% of the goals are scored off a helmet or skate or jock.
