Was it due to a full moon or the officials getting new whistles that accounted for twenty five penalties in week 11 action? The league has a new scoring leader, Brian Blenkarn and a new cellar dweller, Goulbourn Sanitation. And that will be the status quo for the next two weeks as the league takes a week off from competition.

The red-eye saw a very fast paced game with Foley Signs hanging on to knock off the stubborn Karters Korner team, 3-1. Goal posts hit, missed empty nets and end to end rushes had captain Foley remark that it doesn’t get any better than this. Scoring for Foley’s Signs were Gilles Desjardins, Mike Foley and Don Albert with Mark Brooks replying for the losing side.

The post red-eye saw a game that would have the loser take over sole possession of last place. A & B Sports, behind the steady net minding of Ed Lanthier, shut out Bryson’s garbage men, Goulbourn Sanitation, 4-0. After a scoreless first period, lean and mean, Sandi McDermid cheated in from the blueline to notch the opening goal and that set the stage for the floodgates to be opened as Dan Barrett popped in a pair and Greg Coulas adding a singleton.

Nothing like kissing your sister, but Levesque and Hawkin’s team played to a 3-3 draw in the mid morning classic. Last week both teams had allowed a total of 14 goals, so both captains were relieved that their defence had returned. Rob Hawkins had a pair and Terry Schaeffer continued his torrid scoring pace with a loner.
Replying for the chiropractic team was Andre Ryan, Dickie Burton and Jim Tierney.

After suffering their first loss of the season last week in the absence of their captain,  Brent Bradley returned looking for revenge at the expense of McGuire’s squad winning 8-1. Deciding that a line up change was in order, Greg Bowes responded to being moved to the top line with his first ever hat trick. Contributing to his league lead was Brian Blenkarn, Mark Smith, Bill Wagner, Pat Dennis and Ross Farmer.  Bowes said that he would have liked six goals to equal his previous high but the team did not know that he meant a previous season high!. Chris Troughton tallied for Karsons Kartage as Jeff McGuire was not around for the drubbing but phoned Bradley to say that changes were on the way for next week’s tilt.

The bruncheon special was more of a defensive struggle as Business Allies nipped Snelgrove’s Buslines, 2-1 behind the scoring of Peter Filmore and Garth Rogers. Tony Mather continues to shine for the bus drivers with the single tally for the losers. Garnet Barber warned opposing forwards that he will continue clearing out the crease area even if it means taking more roughing penalties.
