KDHL Timekeeping 2021 - 2022
To ensure all
teams benefit equally, every KDHL game will have an assigned timekeeper to run
the time clock, and record game statistics. Each regular season game has a
timekeeper assigned. A locker in the referee's room contains the game binder and first aid kit. The combination is written in a secret location (on the locker end). Playoff games will be assigned once match-ups are
known. Should the assigned player fail
to keep the commitment, they are required to pay a $20.00 fine to the league.
Timekeeper ResponsibilitiesTypically there is an instruction card near the clock remote unit. If you aren't familiar with the functions start waving your arms. There are lots of guys on the ice that can get you started. 99% of the time penalties are not put up on the clock. Just yell through the class and let the sinner know what time they are free. (drop of the puck minus 3 minutes)
Find a
replacement if you are unable to make your assigned timekeeping date.
Keep the game
clock current with;
The
game time remaining as directed by the referee in charge. Periods are 22
minutes running time unless instructed otherwise by the referee in charge. Current
score on the score clock Penalty
time remaining (all penalties, unless directed by the referee, are 3 minutes running
time. If you are unable to work the penalty clock ensure the penalized play
knows when they are "free".) Provide Pat Moran (Shoeless Joe team) with the completed time sheet. If he isn't playing leave the sheet in the
binder, and return it and the first aid kit to the locker.
