News Item 4 - Team Issues During the Season
SCHEDULE: Each Team Schedule will be posted on the League Home Page, News Item 5, as an Excel (.xls) file, with game numbers included. Please mark the game number on your game sheets. The Master Schedule will be entered under the Schedule link on the Web Page.
PLAYER NAMES AND NUMBERS:
Each Player must have a single sweater number that matches the number on the Team List.
Every Team must submit a Team List showing all their Players, including Name, Number and Date of Birth.
That Team List will be entered on the web site, and the Player Names and Numbers on each Game Sheet and Game Data Sheet must correspond with that Team List.
Any change to a Player Number requires consent from the League.
Before a new Player plays a game, the League must be notified so the Player can be added to the Team List.
Teams should have Home and Away Sweaters, but if not, they must call the opposing team and resolve sweater colour conflicts before game time.
GAME SHEETS AND GAME DATA SHEETS:
The Home Team must submit the Game Sheet by fax, and the Game Data Sheet by email.
The purpose of the Game Data Sheet is to provide immediate game results and to identify suspension problems.
The Home Team is responsible for submitting the Game Data Sheets as it is the Home Team’s responsibility to have a competent Scorekeeper completing the Game Sheet - if the Home Team cannot read the Game Sheet in order to submit the Game Data Sheet, get a new Scorekeeper.
GAME ANALYSIS:
Coaches, players and fans, and also game officials, are strongly encouraged to submit an informal outline of 417 League games that they may play in or watch This is very helpful information, as it allows the League to figure out which arenas require ongoing supervision.
INCIDENT REPORTS:
Referees must submit Incident Reports within the time allowed by the 417 Rules and the ODMHA Code of Discipline. Coaches are encouraged to ensure that the Game Officials have a copy of the 417 Rules before the start of each game.
AFFILIATED PLAYERS, TO THE JUVENILE TEAM:
Affiliated players from younger age categories must be marked as "A/P" on the Game Sheet and the Game Data Sheet or the Team risks being suspended for using an illegal player.
ALCOHOL:
No alcohol is permitted in the dressing room, the arena stands or the lobby, or the parking lot. Offending players and teams will be removed from the League. Coaches and their Association are responsible for the players until they leave the arena, and they may bear some responsibility until they arrive home safely.
ARENA LOCATIONS:
Most of the arenas used by 417 League teams can be found at: http://www.arena-maps.com/
