As a result of a poor showing on the first week of the season, the leagues managers, Richie, Bobby, Pat and Rob, have decided to modify the schedule and rosters.
What does this mean for you?
New Rosters Well, there are now only three teams which means that there was a re-draft and the rosters have changed quite a bit. You've probably heard from your captain already, but if you haven't you can check which team you are on and what your schedule looks like, right here on the web. Click on Teams or Schedule in the navigation pane to the left for all your updated info.
More games! That's correct. More games! Since there are three teams now, and still six weeks to play, we are able to have a triple round robin format, where each team has two double headers eight games of regular season (in addition to last week's - shall we call them - exhibition games). We've also gone to a best of three championship, which means that the entire season is a playoff. Every game is truly important. It's like skipping a long season, and going straight to the playoffs.
Back to basics: More players to each roster means back to 5 on 5 hockey on our (slightly larger than) official NHL size rink.
