2008 - 2009 RHL Awards

The Annual RHL awards night took place on Saturday night  to mark the end of the 2008 - 2009 RHL season.  Below is the list of winners.

 

Preseidents’ Trophy – The BUZZ

Terry Sawchuck (Goalie GAA) – Dave Yarham

Marcel Dionne (Regular Season Points Leader) – Travis Hiller

Mike Bossy (Most Goals regular Season) – Paul Thandi

Bobby Orr (Most Points by a Defence man) – Travis Hiller

Playoff MVP – Isaac Jenkins

 

1. -- GM of the Year - -------- The Mike Milbury Award is an annual award presented by the Realistic Hockey League to the RHL General Manager adjudged to have contributed the most to his team's success. The winner is selected in a poll among members of the RHL Players at the end of the regular season.

Darryl Schimpf– The BUZZ

 

2. -- Rookie of the Year -------- The Trent Hunter Award is an annual award given to the player selected as the most proficient in his first year of competition in the Realistic Hockey League. The winner is selected in a poll of the RHL Players at the end of the regular season.

Travis Hiller

 

3. Ray Bourque Award is an annual award given to the defense player who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position. The winner is selected in a poll of RHL Players at the end of the regular season.

Tod Rudge

 

4. The Most Under Rated Player award is an annual award given to the player that leads by example, does not get all the glory and contributes to his team's success. This player is quiet but willing to do his job without question and will do what is needed for his team without hesitation. The winner is selected by the RHL Players at the end of the regular season.

Mike Schimpf

 

5. The Chandler Byng Award is an annual award given to the player adjudged to have exhibited the best type of sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct combined with a high standard of playing ability. The winner is selected in a poll of the RHL Players at the end of the regular season.

Mateo Tamano

 

6. The Roddy Brind'Amour award goes to the player that has shown commitment to the league and his team by showing up every week and contributing to their team's efort.
